Welcome to Spring Season 2007
Spring 2007
In what could easily be described as winter-like conditions the brave and dedicated turned up at Marymoor Park on Saturday March 24 for the first day of
the Spring Netball Season.
Despite the conditions there was some great netball played with some early season skills shining through. Unfortunately the Cascades (Social) were unable to field enough players on the day and had to default to the Blue Herons (Mixed). The Chinooks proved to be too strong for the Dragonflies with some great through court play and shooting. However the Dragonflies never gave up with some tight defensive play and had a close third quarter. The last game of the day proved to be a tough encounter between the Rain Birds and Evergreens (Mixed). The Rain Birds had a comfortable lead heading into the last quarter but very determined Evergreens were not ready to give up without a fight coming back in the fourth quarter for a close finish.
Round 2 of the competition will be played on April 7, as we have players from Chinooks, Dragonflies and Rain Birds heading to Burnaby, BC on March 31 for games against our Canadian neighbors.
